Dave Canales on Lamar Jackson, Tae Davis and Mike Boone

All you can hope for after an NFL preseason game is that your team doesn't suffer any serious injuries. The Carolina Panthers once again did not have to do without any of their regular players and therefore did not lose any of their key players for the 2024 NFL season. However, several supporting players were injured in Saturday night's preseason loss to the New York Jets.

After it was all over, head coach Dave Canales spoke to reporters at Bank of America Stadium. The conversation included headlines like: Canales wouldn't say whether he would use his starters next week against the Buffalo Bills, but he did provide some information on some injured players.

Canales said running back Mike Boone could have returned to the game after sitting out the second half, but he said he had no update on cornerback Lamar Jackson or linebacker/special teamer Tae Davis, who was carted off the field with a foot injury.

That's not much to go by, but that's the way it is with injury updates after press conferences. Canales will know more the next time he speaks to the media. Hopefully we'll get more information then.
