Three people arrested for stealing pharmacy items in Mooresville

MOORESVILLE, NC – Three men were arrested in Mooresville for allegedly stealing over-the-counter items from CVS and Walgreens, according to Mooresville police.

On Tuesday around 1:30 p.m., a license plate reader registered a hit on a vehicle believed to be driven by a suspect who had multiple arrest warrants issued from other states.

The vehicle was discovered in the parking lot of an AT&T store in Mooresville. Officers searched the vehicle after discovering marijuana was inside.

During the search, police said they found fentanyl and over-the-counter pharmacy items that had been stolen from the CVS branch.

A third suspect was identified and found to be in possession of stolen over-the-counter pharmacy items from Walgreens.

Okeem Hunter (18), Logan Guffie (36) and Richard Atkins (48) were arrested. They are facing various charges, including theft and possession of a controlled substance, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Hunter and Atkins were not granted bail because they were released on bond. They are being held at the Iredell County Detention Center. Guffie was given a $1,000 secured bond.
