LSU WR Chris Hilton suffers ankle injury, probably not serious

It was noticeable that an offensive player that LSU will rely heavily on in 2024 was absent from the team's practice game on Saturday due to injury.

Receiver Chris Hilton Jr. did not participate because he suffered an ankle injury, coach Brian Kelly said, but the decision was a precautionary measure and Kelly said the injury is not expected to be serious.

“I think he'll be OK, it was an ankle,” Kelly said. “It didn't seem to be a high ankle or anything that would affect him long-term, it was more of a precautionary ankle injury at the moment.”

Hilton has been plagued by injuries throughout his career, playing in just four games in each of his first two seasons. However, he appeared in 11 games last year and finished with 225 yards and two touchdowns on 13 catches – all career highs.

Despite his minimal productivity at this point in his career, he is a potential breakout candidate after spending the first three seasons at the bottom of the rankings.
