Former New Hampshire correctional officer charged with sexual contact with inmate

BRENTWOOD, NH —

A former Rockingham County House of Corrections officer is free on bail after being arrested on sexual assault charges.

According to court documents, Penny McIntyre, 40, of Raymond, is accused of having sexual contact with an inmate while in a position of authority over that person.

The Rockingham County Department of Corrections told News 9 that they were notified by the sheriff's department when they discovered the possibility of wrongdoing, adding that they had only been working with them for less than a year.

A hearing to determine whether there is sufficient suspicion of guilt is scheduled for next month.
