Death under the Carnegie Bridge is being investigated

A woman was found dead under a bridge in Carnegie on Sunday morning. A man is in jail in connection with that death as police investigate a murder. According to the Allegheny County Police Department, the county dispatch center received a 911 call from the 200 block of Mary Street at around 6:20 a.m. Emergency responders found a woman “severely beaten” under a bridge there. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the woman and two men had been living under the bridge. One of the men was taken to the hospital earlier in the evening after suffering a seizure. At that time, neither the woman nor the other man had any injuries. The second man was arrested and taken to Allegheny County Police Headquarters. The name of the deceased woman has not yet been released, but police said all those involved have been identified. Police are cooperating with the District Attorney's Office in the investigation.
