Two people arrested for drug-related offenses in Ponchatoula drug raid

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, the arrests were the result of a two-month, multi-agency investigation.

PONCHATOULA, Louisiana – A raid on a Ponchatoula home lands a man and woman in jail after a search turns up several deadly drugs that were easily accessible to a child present in the home.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, the arrests were the result of a two-month investigation conducted with assistance from Hammond and Ponchatoula police.

Jasmine Jones, 36, and Mayha Tucker, 26, were booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Friday. They were charged with possession of marijuana, hydrocodone and ecstasy with the intent to resell, possession of CDS in the presence of a minor and two counts of possession of a firearm in combination with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Jones also faces two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

A search warrant was issued for a home on 4th Street, where investigators discovered 2.7 kilograms of marijuana, ecstasy and hydrocodone, as well as two handguns, several iPhones and over $4,000 in cash.

All items were located in common areas that were accessible to a four-year-old child present in the house.

Tucker, who was in the house at the time the search warrant was served, was subsequently taken into custody. Jones was arrested during a traffic stop.
