Digital passports replace paper tickets for arriving passengers in new test for Qantas flights from New Zealand

As announced on Friday, Qantas passengers from New Zealand will be the first to test the pilot program later this year.

Passengers are asked to complete the digital declarations via the Qantas app and can do so up to 72 hours before their arrival.

Once completed, travellers will be sent a digital passport with a QR code that can be shown to Australian Border Force officials.

In Australia, travellers are required by law to complete a card upon entering the country to identify themselves and provide certain information, such as customs and quarantine declarations.
