Bradford County ends early voting for local elections

BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. (WCJB) – This year, residents were able to fill out their ballots for the local primary election from August 5-18.

“Many of our ancestors fought for years just for the right to vote,” says local resident Charles Mcknight. “So it was important to my grandfather, my great-grandfathers and my father, so it has to be important to me and then to my son and grandchildren when they come along.”

There are thirteen electoral districts in Bradford County.

These include churches, country clubs, community centers and a senior care center.

These districts exist in various cities in the county, including Lawtey, Starke, Hampton and Keystone Heights.

“Personally, I plan to vote because I believe in justice and believe that we as a people have a responsibility,” said local resident Iana Patterson.

The last day to vote is Election Day, August 20.
