Prime Video announces premiere date and first look

Toto, I don't think we're in Scranton anymore. The office is officially heading Down Under with a new Australian sequel to the hit comedy series.

Prime Video announced on Monday that the Australian original The office will debut all eight episodes on October 18th on the streamer and at the same time reveal a first image of Felicity Ward (Time Bandits, Wakefield, The Incidents 2) plays the franchise's first female lead and new boss Hannah Howard, managing director of packaging company Flinley Craddick.

When she receives word from headquarters that her branch is closing and everyone must work from home, Hannah goes into survival mode, making promises she can't keep in order to keep her “work family” together. The employees of Flinley Craddick oblige and must endure Hannah's outlandish plans while working toward the impossible goals they've been given.

The office also starring Edith Poor, Steen Raskopoulos, Shari Sebbens, Josh Thomson, Jonny Brugh, Susan Ling Young, Raj Labade, Lucy Schmidt, Zoe Terakes, Pallavi Sharda and Claude Jabbour, with guest roles by Susie Youssef, Justin Rosniiak, Carlo Ritchie, Rick Donald and Chris Bunton.

The show was developed by BBC Studios Australia & New Zealand, Bunya Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios and produced by Julie De Fina and Jackie van Beek, who also serve as executive producers along with Kylie Washington.

The 13th global version of the workplace mockumentary appears after the original BBC version of The office ran for two seasons from 2001 to 2003 with Ricky Gervais as boss David Brent. The US version ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013 on NBC, with Steve Carell's Michael Scott in the lead role for most of the time.

Since then, additional international versions have aired in Canada, France, Germany, Sweden, Israel, South Africa and other countries.
