Man arrested with firefighter who threatened murder and suicide

ATLANTIC CITY – An armed Missouri man who threatened to murder and commit suicide was arrested by city police Saturday.

According to police, 75-year-old James Pace of Blue Springs, Missouri, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a firearm and making terroristic threats.

Police said officers were called to a domestic dispute at a motel in the Iowa Avenue beach area at 9:30 p.m. and found Pace arguing with a woman, threatening to shoot her and then kill himself. Pace was in possession of a loaded handgun and extra ammunition, police said.

Pace was arrested without incident and transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus for evaluation. Upon release, he was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
