Gunfire erupted early Saturday morning at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland as security personnel were involved in two separate shootings. According to base spokeswoman Stefanie Antosh, the first exchange of gunfire occurred around 2:15 a.m. when someone opened fire on the facility's entrance from a passing vehicle.

Antosh explained: “It was a drive-by shooting outside the base… There is no threat to the facility. There were no injuries or deaths.” Immediately after the first incident, San Antonio police were called to investigate.
