In a new development regarding the ongoing negotiations on the Gaza crisis, journalist Ahmed Abdeen revealed what he described as leaks from the Doha meeting. According to what Abdeen published on his official page, the proposals circulating included several key points:

  1. Reduction of Israeli army presence in the Philadelphia Corridor, not a complete withdrawal.
  2. The Palestinian Authority is to place the border crossings back under indirect Israeli supervision.
  3. Impressive surveillance in the Tzeelim area.
  4. Deportation of prisoners released as part of the exchange outside Palestine.
  5. Release of at least 100 Palestinian prisoners, with the number possibly reduced to 70.
  6. No complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.
  7. Linking humanitarian aid to the agreement of the above conditions.
  8. Setting a deadline for the ceasefire with the possibility that Israel may return to military operations if the resistance does not meet its demands.
  9. Start of negotiations on reconstruction and lifting of the siege after implementation of the first phase.
  10. Demand a written commitment from the United States that it agrees to resume the war (with an implicit recognition of Israel's right to “self-defense”).

Abdeen pointed out that the mediators appear to be focused only on the return of Israeli prisoners.

If these leaks are true, they demonstrate the complexity of the ongoing negotiations and the different positions of the parties involved. These proposals are expected to trigger widespread debates in both Palestinian and Israeli political and public circles.
