Woman dead, man in custody after shooting in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, AZ – A woman is dead and a man is in custody following a shooting Saturday night in Scottsdale.

Scottsdale police said they were called to a home near 130th Street and Shea Boulevard for what was initially believed to be an accidental shooting.

When officers arrived, they found that a woman had been shot.

She was taken to hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The victim has not yet been identified, but police believe the victim is the suspect's wife.

There are few details about what led to the shooting, but police have learned it was not an accident.

Scottsdale police confirmed to ABC15 that the shooting is being investigated as a homicide.

According to Scottsdale police, another woman, a man and a boy were reportedly in the house at the time of the shooting.

The man was arrested. His identity has not yet been established.

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident and posed no danger to the public.

The shooting remains under investigation.
