KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Videos of Kamala Harris from her recent appearances have gone viral
  • Critics accused her of being “intoxicated”
  • Harris's defenders pointed out that these attacks were repeated and unfounded

Some social media users have posted videos of Kamala Harris' past events and made unsubstantiated claims that she was “intoxicated.” Two clips in particular have garnered a lot of attention: one from a recent rally in Prince George's County, Maryland, where she was joined by President Joe Biden, and another from her visit to Madison, Wisconsin, in March. In the Maryland clip, she introduces President Biden and discusses lowering prescription drug prices, while in the Wisconsin video she talks about the “strength of democracy.”

These videos were widely shared and some users accused Harris of being an alcoholic.

“Kamala's alcoholism… is she an alcoholic? Is that why she spouts words? Exactly the same mannerisms as vodka Pelosi,” one person commented.

Another wrote: “More and more clips are surfacing of Kamala Harris making comments while drunk and/or high. The question remains: can she last until the election?”

A third person commented: “Rumors are circulating that presidential candidate Kamala Harris may be reaching for the BOTTLE a little too heavily… Imagine the gravity: a potential commander in chief with the nuclear codes in one hand and a glass of wine in the other…”

Another user wrote: “When I watch various videos of Kamala Harris, I get the impression that she is often on something: alcohol, controlled substances, or a combination of both. I wonder what she would sound like sober.”

Harris's defense attorneys pointed out that these attacks were repeated and unfounded.

“It's clear you're resorting to the same tired and baseless attacks that Kamala Harris has been accused of so many times. But let's be honest – there's nothing in this clip that justifies such harsh, personal criticism,” one person wrote.

Another person wrote: “And now Kamala Harris is an alcoholic? This is the latest attempt, eh, Stubby? I'm not a fan of hers, but you seem pretty desperate.”
