Arrest after fatal shooting at 7-Eleven in Seattle

The Seattle Police Department (SPD) reported Saturday that a 36-year-old man was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on August 13 around 4 p.m.

The shooting occurred at a 7-Eleven in the View Ridge neighborhood, not far from the Magnuson Community Center.

According to SPD, the store is located on Sand Point Way Northeast. When police arrived, they found an adult male with a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers said they rendered aid until the Seattle Fire Department arrived on the scene.

The SPD announced that the man died at the scene of the accident despite life-saving measures.

Detectives from the homicide squad and forensic team then arrived to collect evidence.

According to police, two suspects fled in a car. Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the shooting.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Crime Stoppers never asks for names and callers can remain anonymous.
