Search warrant reveals human remains on property of man accused in disappearance and death of his wife – Crime Online

Michigan State Police say they have found human remains on the property of Dale Warner, a Lenawee County man accused of murdering his wife who disappeared three years ago.

Dee Warner, 52, was last seen on April 25, 2021, WXMI reported. A court declared her dead in 2022 and Dale Warner was charged in her death and disappearance last November.

Family members told WTVG the remains were found when state police executed a search warrant on Friday. The remains were found in a sealed tank for anhydrous ammonia, which is used in fertilizers. At the time the remains were discovered, there were no chemicals in the tank, which was sealed with a sign that said “Do Not Use.”

An autopsy is planned for Tuesday, a family spokesman said, but family members believe the remains are those of Dee Warner.

Dale Warner has since pleaded not guilty to his wife's murder and his trial is scheduled to begin next month. His attorney told WTVG they are waiting for the remains to be identified.

“But this appears to be another tragic turn of events for all who loved and cared for her,” the lawyer's statement said on Sunday.

According to court documents, Dee Warner wanted to talk to her husband about a divorce on the night she disappeared. According to the documents, she had a friend pick up their daughter the night before because she did not want the child to witness what had happened.

According to prosecutors, Dale Warner admitted to arguing with his wife about “money and infidelity”; the argument was the worst of his life, the documents say. However, he left the house around 6 a.m. the next morning and his wife was asleep on the couch.

Officials, however, said Dale Warner’s statements were contradictory.
