Video: Police chase in Wauwatosa, sniffer dog used to arrest teenager

A brand new bodycam video shows a police dog arresting a juvenile theft suspect.

Police said the incident followed a series of car break-ins and a chase last month.

Body camera video shows a Wauwatosa police officer and his police dog making the dramatic arrest in a wooded area.

According to police, he is one of two teenagers arrested by police after they led Wauwatosa officers on a wild ride on July 24.

According to police, the 13 and 16 year old teenagers broke into 17 cars in one night before their arrest.

Police also said the duo used a stolen SUV during the dangerous chase.

The video shows the driver driving in the wrong direction and going off the road.

FOX6 first reported on the theft and chase last month, and it surprised and angered Wauwatosa neighbors.

“I just think about what their parents are thinking. They know these are kids, high school students. They're looking for guns, they want to steal cars. Something has to change,” said Christy Sladky.

Police said they found a loaded gun in the stolen car, another discovery following a dramatic arrest.

FOX6 is working to determine the legal status of the teens.

According to court documents, the car in question was stolen in Milwaukee.
