The Office is coming Down Under with a new Australian version of the sitcom series, set to hit theaters in 2024. Here's everything you need to know before the premiere.

The Office is often cited as one of the best sitcoms of all time. While the British version was released first, the long-running US adaptation has built up a huge fan base.

So much so that it has now been announced that the US version will be rebooted once again; however, fans are already extremely ambivalent about this.

However, the US reboot isn't the only new series in the works. A whole new version is set to launch later this year. Following the success of The Office in the UK and US, a brand new version is now coming Down Under, and Australia will be showcasing its version of the series.

Release date of “The Office Australia”

The Office Australia will be released on October 18, 2024.

The new reboot will be available on Prime Video and all eight episodes of the first season will be released simultaneously.

Cast Details: Who will star in the show?

As expected, this new episode of The Office will have a new boss: Australian actress Felicity Ward will take on the role of Hannah Howard.

Ward is best known for her work on Time Bandits and The Inbetweeners 2. Her role as Howard also makes her the first female lead in the franchise, after Steve Carrell and Ricky Gervais already played the role in the US and UK versions.

Plot: What will it be about?

The Office US is one of the most popular sitcoms of all time.

As expected, The Office Australia will follow a similar premise to the UK and US versions, but it is expected that an Australian twist will be added to the upcoming version.

The official synopsis of the series is as follows:

“Hannah Howard is the managing director of packaging company Flinley Craddick. When she receives news from head office that her branch is closing and everyone has to work from home, she goes into survival mode and makes promises she can't keep in order to keep her 'work family' together.”
