WARNING: THIS VIDEO MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR YOUNGER VIEWERS

GREENBRIER, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – With the help of Greenbrier High School students, local emergency responders staged a fatal crash to show students firsthand the consequences of distracted driving. According to Chief Kyle Hamill of the Greenbrier Fire Department, the simulation was “as realistic as we could make it.”

The performance included a simulated fatality, rescue scenario, and student arrest. Smokey Barn News would like to thank the Greenbrier Fire Department, Greenbrier Police Department, Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, Robertson County EMS, Air Evac Lifeteam, and Greenbrier High School, as well as the student actors, for allowing us the opportunity to capture this simulation on video. We recommend that viewers exercise caution as younger viewers may not fully understand the scenario. It may be helpful to explain that this is a simulation designed to convey the serious risks of distracted driving.
