Months later, a man linked to the attack on the Israeli embassy in Serbia is killed

A man with links to Salahudin Zujovic, who carried out an attack on the Israeli embassy in Belgrade in late June, was killed by Serbian police on Saturday in the village of Hotkovo in southern Serbia.

According to RadioFreeEurope, the man, Senad Ramovic, apparently opened fire on the officers first.

His death was officially announced by Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic. After the attack in June, he said: “There is no doubt – this is a terrorist attack against the government of Serbia.”

Ramović had already been sentenced to 13.5 years in prison before the attack at the end of June.

Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz responded to the attack in April, saying: “I would like to thank the Serbian government and all those involved in the rapid response for their strong support and cooperation following the attempted terrorist attack on the Israeli embassy in Belgrade today, in which a Serbian security guard was injured by the terrorist. I would also like to convey my wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured security guard.”
