Woman arrested for defrauding Elvis Presley's family and stealing Graceland property

On Friday morning, a Missouri woman was arrested for alleged attempted fraud. Elvis PresleyFamily of “millions” of dollars, as well as the attempt to take ownership of the Graceland Estate. According to reports from the U.S. Department of Justice, the woman accused is 53-year-old Lisa Jeanine Findley. In a statement from Nicole M. Argentieri, chief of the Justice Department's Criminal Division, Findley is accused of “orchestrating a plot to conduct a fraudulent sale of Graceland by falsely claiming that Elvis Presley's daughter had pledged the historic landmark as collateral for a loan that she was unable to repay before her death.”

As part of the brazen scheme, we allege that the defendant created numerous false documents and attempted to extort compensation from the Presley family. Now she is facing trial in federal court.” Findley was charged with mail fraud and aggravated identity theft, with a minimum sentence of two years in prison for identity theft and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for mail fraud.
