According to a police official on Monday, police will confirm their summons plan for BTS's Suga by the end of the week as they will conduct additional investigations into the drunkenness allegations against the singer.

“We are planning the summons schedule for Suga,” a police official told reporters during a press conference in Seoul on Monday morning. “We will finalize the schedule within this week. It will not be on the weekend or at night.”

Police will not set up a photo shoot where suspects stand in front of the press and answer questions. “The same steps will be taken as with normal suspects,” the official said.

On August 6, Suga was first investigated for driving an electric scooter while under the influence of alcohol in Yongsan district in central Seoul earlier that day.

Suga and his agency BigHit Music came under fire for allegedly downplaying the damage in the drunk driving case. In their apology the day after the accident, they stated that the singer was riding an electric stand-up scooter rather than an electric scooter with a seat. The agency later stated on August 8 that it “will fully fulfill its responsibility depending on how the authorities categorize the vehicle.”

“If such allegations are indeed made, the investigation team will investigate the matter,” the police officer said of the BTS agency's alleged attempt to downplay the crimes. “The allegations and facts surrounding drunk driving will be further investigated.”

The singer is currently serving his mandatory military service as a social worker. This job usually involves a regular work schedule so he can go home after work. The BTS member is expected to finish his service in June next year.

When Suga was caught driving under the influence, his blood alcohol level was 0.227 percent, high enough to revoke his license – a penalty that is imposed at a limit of 0.08 percent.
