Man allegedly strangled 15-year-old while he was fooling around with friends at In-N-Out

LOVELAND, Colorado (KKTV/Gray News) – A Colorado man is facing assault charges, among other things, for allegedly strangling a 15-year-old boy who was fooling around at an In-N-Out restaurant.

According to police, the 15-year-old victim and his friends were splashing water on each other at an In-N-Out in Loveland around 1 a.m. on August 4. The friends accidentally splashed a woman sitting nearby, KKTV reports.

The 15-year-old approached the woman's table to apologize when a man accompanying her allegedly attacked the teen. Police say the suspect “suddenly grabbed him [the victim]put both hands around his neck and back, pulled him onto the table and threw him backwards onto the floor.”

The man and woman then left the restaurant.

During their investigation, police identified the suspect as 55-year-old Lucas Kalisher. They obtained a warrant for his arrest on Tuesday and Kalisher turned himself in to the Larimer County Jail later that day.

Kalisher is charged with second-degree assault, including strangulation and child abuse. According to court records, his bail has been set at $75,000, the Associated Press reports.

A spokesperson for In-N-Out Burger told the AP in an email that they were aware of the incident and had “fully supported and cooperated with law enforcement during their investigation.”
