“Desert Titanium” could replace the color blue this year; what we know

Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is rumored to launch the iPhone 16 series next month. Potential buyers can expect four smartphones in the lineup: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Weeks before the launch, a recent leak gave a first look at the back of the “Pro” models.

The lineup suggested a new color, which some called bronze and others called gold. The informant Majin Bu claimed the variant could be called Desert Titanium. According to informant X (formerly of Twitter), the smartphone could come in four colors. The lineup could include white, black, gold and gray. The gold version could be called Desert Titanium, which could be dark gold.

“The Desert Titanium color is a kind of dark gold, similar to the old purple color, relatively subtle and deep,” noted @MajinBuOfficial. Previously, informant Sonny Dickson posted a real-life photo highlighting the possible colors using the dummy unit of the “Pro” models. The “Desert Titanium” could replace the “Blue Titanium” shade available for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The Desert Titanium could join the White Titanium, Black Titanium, and Natural Titanium colors. The black and silver trims could get a darker shade. Leaks also suggest that the company could switch to a polished finish like the stainless steel of the iPhone 14 Pro.
