Hyderabad: Amid heavy rains in the city, the roof of Hyderabad airport started leaking. The leaking roof was noticed on Monday when passengers were inside the building and operations were going on as part of daily routine. The city has been experiencing the heavy rain since Sunday when the India Meteorological Department (IMD) decided to issue a yellow alert for today, August 19.

Times Now has accessed a video of the airport where water can be seen dripping from the ceiling. Recently, the roof of Terminal 1 of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi had collapsed after heavy rains lashed the city. The tragic incident claimed the life of a taxi driver who was waiting for passengers in his vehicle. He was crushed to death when the heavy materials fell on his car while he was sitting inside it.

Meanwhile, the rest of the city is struggling with the effects of the incessant rain. Roads and streets are soaked. Commuters, especially drivers, are at risk when crossing flooded roads, and it is almost impossible to spot any potholes and navigate the road safely.

In one of the videos, cars can be seen standing on the road, waist-deep in water. The heavy rain has severely affected the daily lives of Hyderabad residents. While the yellow alert is in effect across Telangana, the IMD has predicted cloudy skies. The weather department has predicted rain and thunderstorms.

Hyderabad Weather Forecast

The maximum temperature in the city today is 33 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected for the rest of the week, the IMD said. However, the rain will intensify by the beginning of the weekend.
