McDonough man arrested after traveling to Rome to have sex with child

Steven Andrew Jenkins, 45, of McDonough, was arrested this week after reportedly having an online conversation of a sexual nature with a person he believed was under 16 years of age.

Jenkins reportedly sent the “child” numerous photographs of his genitals and asked the child to send him some of his genitals as well.

After numerous explicit conversations of a sexual nature, he asked the “child” to meet in person so that they could engage in sexual activities.

After driving to the meeting point, officers arrested Jenkins. During his arrest, police said they found methamphetamine on him.

Jenkins is charged with aggravated child abuse, use of a computer to incite a child to commit a crime, obscene contact with a child via the Internet, possession of methamphetamine, electronically providing obscene material to children, sexually explicit conduct with a minor and a window tint violation.
