Crime, handcuffs

By WVUA 23 Digital Reporter Candace Johnson

U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent in Charge Marcus Watson announced on August 8 that two men had been indicted by a grand jury on separate domestic violence-related crimes.

Philip Henry Houk, 33, of North Carolina was charged with attempted kidnapping and interstate violation of a restraining order. Houk was accused of traveling from North Carolina to Jefferson County, Alabama, in June 2024 to break into the victim's residence and kidnap her.

This incident occurred after the Jefferson County District Court issued a protective order against Houk in March.

David Holcomb, 49, of Albertville, was charged with possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a person previously convicted of the misdemeanor of domestic violence.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Brittney L. Plyler and Davis Barlow are prosecuting these cases.
