Driver dies during medical examination at Indore hospital, video goes viral

Indore: A 31-year-old autorickshaw driver died of apparent cardiac arrest during his medical examination at a private hospital in Indore; the incident was recorded by a CCTV camera and went viral as a video clip.

The video footage shows the man slumping down on a chair in a doctor's office and collapsing.

The deceased, Sonu Matkar, came to the hospital by autorickshaw on Saturday night to be treated for chest pain, a police official said on Monday.

Matkar was sitting on a chair in a doctor's office when he slumped and fell during the medical examination, said Inspector Pankaj Dwivedi of the Pardesipura police station.

Matkar was declared dead after the investigation.

Prima facie, Matkar died of cardiac arrest, which could be confirmed once the autopsy report is available, he added.
