Elkton man charged with involvement in organized crime and endangering the welfare of minors

ELKTON, Kentucky – An Elkton man is accused of engaging in organized crime, drug possession and endangering the welfare of minors.

The Todd County Sheriff's Office on Thursday located a man connected to a drug investigation by the Pennyrile Drug Task Force.

Officers said they arrived at a residence on West Jefferson Davis Highway and found Jeremy Wilson, 30, of Elkton. When Wilson opened the front door, officers said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana.

Police told Wilson there is video footage showing him loading suspected marijuana into a vehicle outside a residence on August 9. The marijuana is believed to weigh over 25 pounds.

According to a complaint filed by Todd County Sheriff Tracy White, Wilson admitted to loading the bags and tracking them. White says the pursuit occurred at over 118 miles per hour.

Wilson allowed officers to enter the apartment. Officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Four teenagers were in the apartment. One of the teenagers admitted to smoking marijuana with Wilson.

Wilson was taken into custody and is being held in the Todd County Jail.

Wilson is charged with second-degree unlawful contact with a minor, endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of marijuana, purchase/possession of drug paraphernalia, first-degree fleeing or eluding police, first-degree reckless endangerment of a police officer, first-degree trafficking in marijuana (> 5 pounds), and engaging in organized crime.

Two other people were charged as part of the investigation.
