REPORTS

Bodily harm (significant), 2024-08180177, 3500 block of 2^and Street S. On August 18 at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responding to the Arlington County Fair responded to a report of a fight on the soccer fields. Preliminary investigation indicates that private security observed the two suspects in a physical altercation. One suspect was arrested without incident while the other suspect fled from an officer. The officer initiated a foot pursuit and took the second suspect into custody. While the suspect was being taken into custody, a crowd formed and began throwing water bottles and other objects at the officers. Additional officers responded and cleared the soccer field of visitors. Rick Chavez, 25, of Temple Hills, MD, was arrested and charged with assault and obstruction. Jordan Garcia-Viera, 23, of Sterling, VA, was arrested and charged with assault.

WEAPON INFRINGEMENT (Major)2024-08180026, 3100 block of Clarendon Boulevard. On August 18 at approximately 2:04 a.m., a patrol officer was approached by a witness who reported observing a man with a firearm fleeing the area. A spotter was called and an officer responding located and arrested a person matching the suspect's description in the area of ​​Washington Boulevard and N. Hudson Street. During the course of the investigation, a firearm was recovered. August Lomonaco, 21, of Washington DC was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing.

INDECIDENT EXPOSURE2024-08170119, N. Pershing Drive at N. Fillmore Street. On August 17 at approximately 3:36 p.m., police were called to a report of a suspicious person in the street. Upon arrival, an officer observed the male suspect exposing himself and behaving disorderly. The officer ordered the suspect to stop, but he ignored orders. Another officer responded and gave the suspect commands. The suspect continued to resist commands and was taken into custody after an officer deployed his taser. Paramedics transported the suspect to an area hospital for evaluation. Javan Harris, 47, of Arlington, Virginia, was arrested and charged with exhibitionism, disorderly conduct, and public intoxication.

BURGLARY, 2024-08160241, 700 block N. Kenmore Street. On August 16, police were called to a burglary at approximately 11:14 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicates the female victim was in her residence when she heard a loud noise and upon investigation noticed the male suspect in the residence. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. Officers searched the area for the suspect, with no success. No items were reported stolen. The suspect is described as a black male with a muscular build, 20 to 30 years old, approximately 6'11″, 180 lbs, dressed all in black and wearing a ski mask. The investigation is ongoing.

BRANDISHING (late)2024-08160023/2024-08160026, 2200 block of Arlington Boulevard. On August 16, police were called at approximately 2:10 a.m. to the late report of threats. Upon arrival at approximately 1:10 a.m., it was determined that the male victim and male suspect, who know each other, had a verbal argument inside a building during which the suspect pointed a firearm at the victim before leaving the scene. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
