Dricus Du Plessis counters UFC 305 loser's bold pre-fight comments

Dricus Du Plessis didn't miss the opportunity to hit back at another UFC 305 fighter after the two had very different results on fight night.

UFC 305: Dricus Du Plessis defeats Israel Adesanya in sensational main event

“Stillknocks” entered the cage last weekend in Perth, Western Australia to defend his middleweight title for the first time against two-time champion Israel Adesanya and after a wild battle, Du Plessis managed to apply a rear naked choke in the fourth round to secure the win.

Adesanya actually went into the fight as a slight favorite, even though Du Plessis is undefeated in the UFC. After his victory, the South African fired off an attack on his UFC 305 colleague Steve Erceg after “AstroBoy” had described the South African as a “6 out of 10” fighter before the event.

With a current record of 8-0 in the UFC and a title defense under his belt, “Stillknocks” has many options open for his next fight and has even caught the attention of former middleweight titleholder and current UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira after UFC 305.

“Poatan” has already booked his next light heavyweight title defense at UFC 307 against Khalil Rountree Jr., but if the Brazilian beats Rountree and Du Plessis wins a potential rematch against Sean Strickland, the two men could meet in a champion-versus-champion bout at some point in the future.
