DIXFIELD – Police arrested a man and woman who were traveling Sunday morning after responding to a reported burglary at Ellis Variety at 126 Weld Street, the Oxford County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Monday.

Misty Glover, Charles Gannon Jr.

Charles Gannon, 31, and Misty Glover, 41, were arrested on Hathaway Road after officers investigated a 4 a.m. burglary at Ellis Variety, Major Dana Thompson said in the news release.

Gannon was charged with aggravated criminal damage and refusal to submit to arrest. Glover was charged with obstruction of governmental administration and refusal to submit to arrest.

Thompson said the deputy who responded to the burglary report noticed a broken window upon arrival, searched the store and viewed surveillance video that showed Gannon breaking the window.

The deputy found him with Glover on Hathaway Road around 11 a.m. Gannon struggled with deputies and police officers from Rumford and Mexico who were called to help. Gannon was shot with a Taser in an attempt to arrest him, Thompson said.

Both underwent a psychiatric evaluation at Rumford Hospital before being taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris, where they remained until Monday afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 207-743-9554, Thompson said.
