Three people arrested for drug-related offenses in popular Salt Lake City park

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KUTV) — Three people were arrested at a popular park in Salt Lake City over the weekend.

The Salt Lake City Police Department's Liberty Patrol Division Bike Squad conducted an enforcement operation in Liberty Park on Sunday after residents reported fights, drug dealing and lewd behavior.

During the operation, officers arrested 42-year-old Anthony Kilpatrick for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance with the intent to resell, 29-year-old Elisea Gonzalez for possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to resell, and 31-year-old Zackery Johnson for resale of a controlled substance, the police department said.

An investigation reportedly yielded marijuana, psilocybin, more than two dozen THC cartridges and $1,250 in cash.

The SLCPD said it is working to maintain a drug-free environment in the city's parks.
