Shots fired in rush-hour road rage incident in Park Ridge: police – Chicago Tribune

Park Ridge Police responded to a report of shots fired around 5:09 p.m. Monday
at the intersection of Touhy Avenue and Busse Highway, a press release said. The intersection is located just north of the Metra station and in the city's Uptown business district.

Officers discovered a shooting had occurred upon arrival, the release said. They also learned that the shooting was the result of a DUI incident involving three different vehicles: a gray Hyundai, a dark Honda and a black Jaguar.

During the incident, the driver of the black Jaguar fired several shots at the gray Hyundai. The black Jaguar fled east toward Chicago while the black Honda and gray Hyundai remained at the scene, police said.

It was said that no one was hit by the shots.

Park Ridge police closed Touhy Avenue near Busse Highway during the evening rush hour on Monday, August 19, after shots were fired. Police later said three cars were involved in an incident of driving aggression.

Officers discovered several shell casings in the roadway and closed Touhy Avenue between Cumberland and Northwest Highway, a four-lane road that is typically busy during rush hour.

The investigation is ongoing and Park Ridge Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 847-318-5256.
