Eastbound Loop 202 in Tempe closed after accident

The highway is closed at Scottsdale Road, just north of ASU. Here's the latest information.

TEMPE, Arizona – The eastbound lanes of the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway in Tempe are closed, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

ADOT said the Scottsdale Road closure was due to an accident.

The department does not know when the eastbound lanes of the highway will reopen.

No details about the crash have been released, including how many cars were involved and whether there were any injuries. 12News has reached out to the Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Tempe Police Department for more information.

Drivers can check real-time road conditions online at AZ511.gov, in the AZ511 app, or by calling 511.
