A memorial service will be held on Monday evening at President Street and Brooklyn Avenue in Crown Heights, at the site where Yankel Rosenbauma 29-year-old Hasidic student from Australia, was killed by a group of black youths during the Crown Heights riots against Jews in 1991.

Thirty-three years have passed since that bloody event. While the neighborhood largely lives in harmony, some members of the Jewish community say justice has still not been done.

During the trial of his stabbing victim, Lemrick Nelson Jr.'s attorney argued that the murder had nothing to do with Rosenbaum being Jewish. Nelson served his full sentence and was released on June 2, 2004.
