Rapper NBA YoungBoy reportedly agrees to move gun case to Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Rapper NBA YoungBoy has agreed to move his gun trial in federal court from Louisiana to Utah, where he will plead guilty to weapons possession charges. according to The Advocate.

The rap star, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, originally faced up to ten years in prison after being charged as a convicted felon for weapons possession.

Gaulden has been in the Weber County Jail for months. Charges related to a prescription drug case.

In May, A judge set Gaulden's bail at $100,000who faces nearly 50 charges since his arrest on April 16 following the execution of a search warrant at his home near Huntsville. The rapper is accused of running a drug ring that fraudulently obtained drugs from several state pharmacies.

According to The Advocate, the gun case stems from a 2020 video shooting in Baton Rouge where police received a tip that several people were carrying weapons. Gaulden was accused of possessing a .45-caliber Glock and a 9mm pistol.
