The Dublin High School campus was put on lockdown Monday afternoon following an alleged fight between students in the parking lot that may have involved weapons. However, after investigating, police determined that all reported incidents were unfounded.

“There are no threats to students, teachers or the public,” Dublin police said.

Officers from the Dublin Police Service were dispatched to the campus – which is home to both Dublin High School and Valley Continuation High School – at around 1:02 p.m. after receiving an anonymous call about the alleged altercation.

Multiple units responded and out of an abundance of caution, police asked the campus to evacuate. According to the Dublin Unified School District, no other campuses in the district were placed on lockdown due to the alleged fight.

“They investigated the alleged fight by reviewing campus videos, searching the campus and tracing the phone conversation, but found no evidence of the altercation,” DHS Director Maureen Byrne said in a statement.

During the DHS curfew, police also checked Emerald High School, but the school did not remain in quarantine.

Following the investigation, the lockdown at DHS was lifted around 1:35 p.m., according to Byrne.

“We would like to thank the students and staff at Dublin High and Valley High for their calm and quick response and are grateful to Dublin Police for taking all tips seriously,” Byrne said in a statement.
