1 dead in shooting in southeast Portland

PORTLAND, Oregon – Portland police responded Monday evening to reports of a shooting in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood of southeast Portland that left one person dead.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m., a call about the shooting came in from the Division Center, a shopping center on the corner of Southeast 122nd and Division. Witnesses told KGW that someone was lying in the parking lot when police and emergency responders arrived to take over the scene.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, officers arrived to find a man with serious injuries. Although paramedics attempted to save the man's life, he died at the scene.

The PPB Homicide Squad arrived at the crime scene to investigate.
