OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A local Republican legislator meets with volunteers in Oshkosh, just before the November 2024 election.

With less than 80 days until the election, Donald Trump's presidential campaign is doubling its efforts to reach Wisconsinites where they are.

Representative Glenn Grothman of the 6th Congressional District hosted a day of voter outreach on Monday.

The event took place on the first day of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.

“I believe Wisconsin is the most important state in the country in this [election]I really believe that,” Grothman said. “Assuming we can hold onto the states we had eight years ago — Arizona, Georgia and Nevada — Wisconsin is the state the experts are looking at. I really believe Wisconsin is the key state here. Pennsylvania is important, but if we win Pennsylvania, we'll probably get Wisconsin, too. So I think Wisconsin will be the No. 1 state in the country to watch.”
