Boxing icon Oscar De La Hoya posts bizarre ‘sexual boogie’ video of himself wearing a thong with his girlfriend before it is REMOVED from Instagram after followers complain

Oscar De La Hoya was embroiled in a social media controversy after a video posted by him and his partner was removed following numerous complaints.

De La Hoya, the promoter of American boxer Ryan Garcia, shared a video of himself and his partner Holly Sonders on Instagram, with Spanish magazine Marca describing the dance as a “sexual boogie.”

Sonders is filmed in his underwear, while De La Hoya wears nothing but a leopard-print thong as the two dance together to the Spanish-language song “Loca People” by Sak Noel.

Unsurprisingly, the video quickly spread across the Internet, but it also attracted the attention of those who were apparently not so impressed by the clip.

One account reposted the clip before it was removed from Instagram, writing: “She looks disgusting and Oscar is having a midlife crisis.”

“This is not going to end well, the Internet will destroy them.”

De La Hoya was unimpressed by Instagram's response and insisted that his “enemies” were responsible for reporting the video.

“I just got banned. My last post was really funny and the haters reported it. They hate to see me happy,” he said on social media.

Sonders added: “We both posted a funny video an hour ago,” Sonders, 37, wrote in a post on her Instagram story. “It was removed from both accounts because laypeople reported it.”

“Oscar had 6,000 comments in 30 minutes. I guess some people really can't stand to see us having fun. The good news… we'll be back tomorrow with more.”

Sonders appeared to take aim at Instagram after the clip was removed, posting: “IG is removing all of my content that isn't covered head to toe… so please. I'll abide by their guidelines for a day.”

“And if you're one of those pleasant ones, rest assured that we'll be back with more thong videos this week because we're staying in Mexico. ALWAYS HAVE FUN, FRIENDS.”

She then posted another video with the caption, “Thank you for tuning in LIVE! And for making our ridiculous video so incredibly viral and one of the most viewed of 2024! Send me some more ideas for our next video… Oscar already has some ideas.”

In the video, Sonders asks for the “craziest videos you have” before De La Hoya interrupts to show off his toned body before his partner thanks his fans for their “support.”

De La Hoya has been in a relationship with 37-year-old golf commentator Sonders since 2021.

The boxing star's clothing choices have attracted media attention before. For example, in 2007, De La Hoya was photographed wearing fishnet tights, women's underwear and a wig.

However, he has since claimed that he was allegedly “set up” by two unnamed women, adding that he was “drugged”.

“I was on drugs,” said De La Hoya, who said he had problems with cocaine and alcohol before. “I didn't even know it.”

“I was in bad relationships and stuff,” he continued on the Club Shay Shay podcast. “Two women came into my room with a suitcase. That's all I remember. And then I woke up the next day…”

'[In the case were] “Women's clothing, drugs, this and that,” he said, implying that the women knew exactly what they were doing. “They set a trap for me. They set a trap for me, but it's OK, it happened. So what?”

Although De La Hoya initially tried to deny his identity in the photo, the former Olympic champion has since admitted that the photos are real.

“I'm very open about it,” he said. “I don't give a shit.”

De La Hoya has spoken openly about his relationship with drugs and alcohol on several occasions and told First on Fox Business about his “estrangement” from his mother.

“And it wasn't necessarily because you wanted to be with them,” De La Hoya added, “you just wanted to talk and have a voice, a pair of ears to listen to you. And I remember just crying and telling this stranger I didn't even know everything.”
