Reckless driving incident leads to arrest in Storm Lake

A Storm Lake man was arrested on numerous charges following an alleged reckless driving incident.

According to Storm Lake Police, officers were on foot in the 500 block of Erie Street when they noticed the vehicle colliding with an unattended vehicle in a parking lot before fleeing. The vehicle was stopped in the same area. The driver was identified as 21-year-old Luis Rodriguez Trejo, who allegedly showed signs of alcohol impairment and had a suspended driver's license in Iowa. He was taken into custody at the scene.

Rodriguez Trejo was charged with third-offense driving under the influence, a class D felony, driving while suspended, a misdemeanor, driving while license revoked, a misdemeanor, and open container and restricted license violation, both scheduled misdemeanors.

Rodriguez Trejo was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on nearly $8,700 bail.
