1 dead after shooting in Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood in southeast Portland

A man died in a shooting in the Powellhurst-Gilbert neighborhood of southeast Portland on Monday evening, police said. The incident is the continuation of a deadly series of shootings in the city that left four people dead last week.

According to police, Portland police officers arrived at the 12000 block of Southeast Division Street around 7:35 p.m. after a shooting was reported. They found a man “seriously injured.” Paramedics arrived shortly afterward, but the victim, whose identity has not been publicly released, died at the scene.

Police did not provide further details about the shooting and did not say whether there had been any arrests or whether suspects were being sought.
