Police seek suspect in violent touching case in Queens


QUEENS, NY – The New York City Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying an individual wanted in connection with a forcible touching incident that occurred in Queens on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The incident occurred near 37th and 75th Streets within the boundaries of the 115th Precinct.

According to police reports, an 18-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man at around 3 p.m. and grabbed her buttocks. The perpetrator then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim suffered no injuries in the incident.

The NYPD is urging anyone with information on the suspect's identity or whereabouts to come forward.

  • Teenager dead, three injured in shooting in Fort Lauderdale

    FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida. — Fort Lauderdale Police are currently investigating a homicide that occurred in the 600 block of NW 62nd Street early Saturday morning, August 17, 2024. The incident left one person dead and three others hospitalized.

    According to police, officers arrived at the scene around 5:05 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, Fort Lauderdale Police and Fire Departments discovered three adult male victims in a vehicle, all with gunshot wounds. The victims were immediately transported to Broward Health Medical Center.

    One of the victims, identified as 18-year-old Marion Harrison, was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

    The identities of the other three victims are being kept secret in accordance with Florida state law. Two of the surviving victims are still hospitalized, while the third victim, who was not shot, was also taken to the hospital as a precaution.

    The Fort Lauderdale Police Department's Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information about this incident or the suspects involved to contact Detective Jennifer Saint-Jean at 954-828-5570.   • Maryland State Police investigate attempted robbery of Silver Spring flower shop

    SILVER SPRING, Maryland. — Maryland State Police are investigating an attempted robbery and assault on a flower vendor that occurred Sunday afternoon in Montgomery County. The incident occurred on August 18, 2024, shortly after 3 p.m. on the exit ramp from Interstate 495 East to Route 650 South.

    According to preliminary investigations, a 64-year-old woman was selling flowers on the side of the road when she was approached by the occupants of an SUV. The driver of the vehicle, which was stuck in traffic, called her over under the pretext of buying flowers. As the woman approached, one of the occupants allegedly grabbed her purse.

    As the SUV sped away, the victim was briefly dragged and fell with her purse still attached to her. She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital for treatment of her injuries and later released.

    The SUV involved in the incident is described as a darker colored vehicle with District of Columbia license plates. Authorities believe there were at least two black men inside, one of whom was wearing a ski mask. The vehicle was last seen heading south on Route 650.

    A Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert has been issued to both the Montgomery County Police Department and the DC Metropolitan Police Department. The Montgomery County Police Department is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
