Man charged with sex crimes against child in West Bloomfield – The Oakland Press

A 25-year-old man is serving a $3 million prison sentence for alleged sex crimes against a child in West Bloomfield.

Joshua Charston Brown-Hill is accused of a series of incidents that allegedly occurred between June 1 and August 15, the day of his arrest. According to the Oakland County District Attorney's Office, a police officer on patrol found Brown-Hill and a 12-year-old in a vehicle outside a former elementary school site in West Bloomfield Township in the early morning hours of that day.

Brown-Hill was allegedly aware of the child’s age.

“I commend the diligence of the West Bloomfield officer who saw this crime and intervened,” Oakland County District Attorney Karen McDonald said in a press release. “Those who target children will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.”

Brown-Hill, who was charged on August 16 with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on August 29 and a preliminary hearing a week later, both before 48th Judicial District Judge Marc Barron.

If convicted, Brown-Hill faces at least 25 years in prison, possibly even life imprisonment.
