15-year-old in critical condition after argument over weapon

The Fort Pierce Police Department (FPPD) is investigating a shooting that left a 15-year-old boy in critical condition.

The FPPD said it responded to a shooting near a Wings Hut at 431 North 25th Street shortly before 8 p.m. Monday.

According to investigators, an argument broke out between the 15-year-old and another person, which led to a fight over a firearm.

Officials said a shot was fired from the gun during the fight and the teenager was hit by the bullet.

The victim was taken to HCA Florida Lanwood Hospital and is in critical condition.

The other person remained on site and cooperated with the investigation.
