Ella Emhoff supports stepmother Kamala Harris with viral invisibility cloak at the Democratic Party Convention

Being Ella Emhoff has its advantages.

While Kamala Harris' viral camouflage hat sold out among her followers shortly after its release, her stepdaughter Ella Emhoff snapped one up to wear at one of the 2024 Democratic National Convention nights on Monday.

The 25-year-old fashion designer, whose father is Harris' husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, wore the $40 cap with a sleeveless nude top and matching pleated pants to kick off the DNC.

According to Teen Vogue, the IMG model's hat sold out just 30 minutes after its launch. The design is inspired by the camouflage hat worn by Tim Walz in a video Harris posted to announce that she had chosen him as her running mate.

The American-made baseball cap has become very popular with fans. As the current vice president's campaign told Teen Vogue, the design has generated nearly $2 million in sales as of August 8.

And there's another celebrity connection to the hat: After seeing Walz wearing this model, many fans pointed out that it bears similarities to Chapell Roan's “Midwest Princess” hat ($30).

Aside from the camouflage hats, the potential first stepdaughter has had numerous fashion moments over the years.

She walked the runway in a variety of daring looks at New York Fashion Week 2022, and in 2021, she rocked a striking red Adidas look by Stella McCartney on the Met Gala red carpet.

The model also grabbed her first cover in 2021, posing for the spring issue of Dust magazine in a patchwork jacket she designed.

And don't worry if you're looking for your own stealth cap: According to the Harris-Walz shop, stock will be restocked on September 30th.
