Former Georgia football player suffers season-ending injury

Former Georgia football tight end Brett Seither has suffered a season-ending injury while playing for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

The 2024 college football season is upon us, and the last thing you want to hear is a player who is already out for the entire year due to injury. Unfortunately, that news struck a former Georgia Bulldog this week. Tight end Brett Seither, now with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, will miss the entire 2024 season due to a knee injury, head coach Brent Key announced Tuesday.

Seither spent four seasons at the University of Georgia before deciding to transfer to Georgia Tech for the 2023 season as a graduate transfer. He arrived at Tech with two years of eligibility remaining. During his time at Georgia, Seither caught four passes for 54 yards and a touchdown in 27 games. In his final season in Athens, he played in 10 games as a backup.

During his senior year at Georgia Tech, he played in 13 games and caught seven passes for 101 yards and four touchdowns. In last season's rival game against Georgia, he caught one pass for 28 yards.

Since then, Dominick Blaylock, a former Georgia wide receiver, transferred to Georgia Tech at the end of the 2022 season. At the same time, former Georgia employee Buster Faulkner also took over as the program's offensive coordinator. Former Georgia tight end Ryland Goede is also now with the Yellow Jackets after transferring from Georgia to Mississippi State for one season.
