Mark Byington's first SEC schedule released

Vanderbilt coach Mark Byington will face the conference with Texas and Oklahoma in a way no one has before.

Byington and his team now know what to expect as the SEC released its conference schedule on Tuesday.

Vanderbilt's schedule:

January 4: at LSU

7/8 January, Miss St.

January 11: at Mizzou

14th/15th January: South Carolina

January 18: Tennessee

21/22 January: in Alabama

January 25: Kentucky

February 1: in Oklahoma

4/5 February: in Florida

February 8: Texas

11/12 February: Auburn

February 15: Tennessee

18/19 February: in Kentucky

February 22: Ole Miss

February 25/26: at Texas A&M

March 1: Missouri

March 4/5: Arkansas

March 8: in Georgia

Notes:

–Vanderbilt will likely have about 10 quad-one chances in conference play.

–Vanderbilt will play Tennessee, Kentucky and Missouri twice. Both games against Tennessee are over the weekend. It seems like it would be a tough draw to play Tennessee and Kentucky twice. But it also feels right.

– Former Vanderbilt forward Malik Dia will return to Memorial Gymnasium on Feb. 22. Former Vanderbilt wing Malik Presley will return on Feb. 2 with former Vanderbilt freshman Jamie Vinson.

– Former Vanderbilt guard Tyrin Lawrence will not return to Memorial Gymnasium in his final year of eligibility.
