Shooting in Reston leaves one person with life-threatening injuries; police search for suspect

One person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon after a shooting in Reston, Virginia, sparked a search involving a helicopter and police dogs.

One person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon after a shooting in Reston, Virginia, sparked a search involving a helicopter and police dogs.

The shooting occurred in the 11800 block of Sunrise Valley Drive near the intersection of Reston Parkway and Dulles Access Road, Fairfax County police said.

Police said they are looking for a suspect described as a man between the ages of 25 and 30, wearing glasses, a black shirt, black pants and carrying a large “swing bag.” He was last seen running toward Reston Parkway, police said.
